Purge Old DAT Files in McAfee

If your harddrive has become full because of McAfee virus update definitions, you might want to try to delete the old files to free up space. The following command below will help you purge these old 'DAT' files.


(X:)\Program Files\McAfee\GroupShield for Exchange\bin\PurgeOldDefinitions.exe xx


Note: Where xx is the number of DATS to retain.

Problem:  NDR with the following messge

            You do not have permission to send to this recipient.  For assistance, contact your system administrator.

Solution:

  1. Go to ESM>First Administrative Group>Servers
  2. Select the server where the mailbox of user resides
  3. Go to Protocols>SMTP
  4. Right click on Default SMTP Virtual Server, click on Properties.
  5. Go to Access Tab>Relay button.
  6. Check Allow all computers...
